Stitch Fix – September 2018

I received my new Stitch Fix box today. This is the fourth box I’ve received since signing up. I’m really excited about using this program and, so far, have had pretty good success. If you aren’t familiar with Stitch Fix, it is a program that provides you a personal stylist who will pick out clothes and accessories based on info you enter into your profile. Stitch Fix sends you the items, you pick what you want to keep, and send back anything you don’t want in a self-addressed envelope.  It’s so easy!  If you don’t like to shop, find yourself in a rut buying the same things over and over, or, like me, would rather not deal with Atlanta traffic, then Stitch Fix is the way to go.

Opening the Stitch Fix Box

When you first open the box, you notice one lid with a thank you for using Stitch Fix. The other lid has quick instructions on what to do: Decide -what will you keep, Rate – go to the website and tell Stitch Fix what you think, Return – send back whatever you don’t want.  The goodies are hidden within the brown kraft paper, so it’s like unwrapping a gift! Also, included is a postcard for their Extras add on program.

The Big Reveal

I always receive 5 items in my box. Stitch Fix charges $20 for the styling fee, so if you send everything back, you will be charged the fee. If you keep even one item, that fee goes toward your purchase. If you keep all the items, you also get 25% off. In my case, that usually equates to getting an item free.  You’ll see in the pics below that I received 3 shirts, 1 sweater, and 1 pair of jeans. Also, you’ll notice the advertisement for the Extras, a bag to send back any returns, and an envelope with a list of the items shipped and their cost.

Trying On My Stitch Fix

Now, we try stuff on. I’ll admit here and now that I need to lose weight.  In fact, diet and exercise will also be a part of our blog, so stay tuned for that. I look forward to telling Stitch Fix to start sending a smaller size, but for now, they send items in XL. So, here goes!

Stitch Fix - Red Ale and 01Algo
Stitch Fix Red Ale Holden Slim Fit Jeans and 01Algo Interval Stretch Poplin Shirt

I first tried on the Red Ale Holden Slim Fit Jeans and the 01Algo Interval Stretch Poplin Shirt. I love the jeans! They have some stretch and are just so comfortable. I kept the jeans as well as the Poplin. Even though it’s a little tight in the stomach for my taste, the Poplin should fit fine after losing a few pounds.

Stitch Fix - Hawker Rye
Stitch Fix Hawker Rye Cotton Cashmere V-neck Sweater

The second item I tried is the green Hawker Rye Cotton Cashmere V-neck Sweater. This sweater was SO soft and comfortable. Unfortunately, it was too big. The sleeves were long as was the sweater itself. I was hoping to swap it out for a smaller size, but they didn’t have any available.  This one went back.

Stitch Fix - Threads 4 Thought

The third pic is the Threads 4 Thought Baseline Triblend Henley. It also was tight in the stomach. I kept it, though, because it will fine in 5 lbs or so. Plus, I tend to wear this type of shirt under something.

Stitch Fix - Hawker Rye
Hawker Rye Omaha Stretch Chambray Shirt

This is the Hawker Rye Omaha Stretch Chambray Shirt. It fit ok except for the collar crowding my face. Since I knew I probably wouldn’t wear it that much, and I couldn’t swap out the sweater, I sent this one back, too.

Decisions on Stitch Fix

Well, there you have it. I kept 3 and returned 2. Not too bad for staying in and trying things on in the comfort of my own home. If you decide you want to try it out, then click here https://www.stitchfix.com/referral. You should get $25 toward your first Fix.

Happy Shopping Guys!
