The Long-Awaited Arrival
One of my favorite times of year is when fall arrives. Not only does fall in Georgia present us with a remarkably pleasant break from the crazy heat and humidity of summer, but it ushers in amazing colors. Well, summer continued well into October this year, but toward the end, I began to see more brilliant colors.
The parking lot at my office has quite a variety of trees, so the color mix is quite striking when it is at its peak! On November 1st, we had a rain storm, and although most people don’t appreciate the appearance of a dreary fall day, it brings back lovely memories of my childhood when I lived further north and saw more distinct season changes. I stopped to capture some shots, even on that dreary day, and I was able to get some gorgeous photos of some of the trees in the parking lot.
When I sat down in my car, it was so fun to see the leaves in the raindrops on my windshield!
All of the leaves on the ground were evidence of the weight of the storm that had passed through earlier in the day. The rain won the battle!
Vibrant Colors
See the striking yellow on this tree? I wish the picture did it justice!
Sometimes, it’s just neat to study the foliage a little closer. These are a few of the leaves that held on through the entire ride home from work (not that you pick up THAT much speed in Atlanta traffic!).
The following day, it was still a bit overcast, but I was able to capture slightly different views of the two full trees from the day before:
How about you? Do you love fall in Georgia or wherever you are? Does a dreary fall day bring back endearing memories for you? Are you able to see the beauty in spite of the rain?
