What’s in a name? What in the world does SeneGence mean? It stands for:
A couple of years ago, a friend of mine from college shared about this company on her Facebook page. I began to follow her journey, which at the time was focused mainly on the company’s signature product, LipSense. I am not a big lipstick wearer, for a variety of reasons, so while the product was crazy impressive, it wasn’t as much of a hook for me. Over time, however, I began to see true transformation in her skin.
James and I have struggled with our own skin care challenges. Some of those have been life-long (or at least since puberty), while others change as we (ahem!) age gracefully. We have both tried a variety of drug store brands and even dabbled in the world of what some would call luxury skin care. We have never been completely happy with the results we have achieved, so I was intrigued by the transformation I was seeing!
What Makes SeneGence So Great?
SeneGence has a proprietary complex known as SenePlex®. Many of the products are focused on pure hydration for your skin, which is important for younger skin, but even more essential as your skin matures. <wink, wink>
The color cosmetics contain the same anti-aging properties as the skin care, so you get extra doses of the healthy, natural ingredients that make skin more beautiful, rather than clogging your pores with makeup. It’s ultimately skin care with pigment. How great does that sound?!? Well, I can assure you, it feels even better!
Diving In
After seeing all the benefits of the products, we decided we didn’t really have anything to lose. We were already using another luxury brand that was at a price point even higher than SeneGence, but after over a year of use, we just hadn’t seen the changes in our skin that we wanted and would have expected based on the money we had spent and the results the company had touted. Granted, everyone’s skin is a little different, and others have achieved great results with that company. But neither of us did.
It was time for a change, so I signed up to be a distributor. A couple of weeks later, I placed an order for a few key products for each of us, based on our skin care needs, as well as some products for a couple of other people who had expressed interest. Tag along while I unbox the order.
Before I opened the boxes, I was already pretty impressed with the quality of the distributor box (bottom). I love blue, and everything was so well crafted! The box was really heavy duty and had a nice, modern soft-touch finish.
The lipstick tape was a super-fun addition to the product order box, and it is a signature of all SeneGence shipments.
Nerd Alert!
I am going to tap into my nerdy side for a minute. I work in the paper and packaging industry for my full-time job, so I always have to take a look at the stamps on the boxes we receive to see who created the box. My suspicions are that SeneGence doesn’t make their own, but rather purchases the boxes and pays to have their name on the label. I could be wrong, but maybe I should look into it…

Inside the product box, there was plenty of heavyweight paper to cushion all of the products in transit.
I pulled out all of the products, super excited to see what they were like! Isn’t the packaging so pretty? I love the blue and gold, and the size of the containers was rather impressive! There was also a light fragrance coming from the box. The scent was not overpowering or perfume-y at all. Just pleasant and clean-smelling.
So...is SeneGence really as amazing as it seems?
I will share James’ experience first. He has never been happy with his skin. His complexion is oily, and no matter what product he has used, excess oil was a problem all day long. Based on recommendations, we selected the following for him:
- Moisturizing Body Wash – to use as face wash
- Daytime Moisturizer for Normal to Oily skin
- Detoxifying and Moisturizing Mask
- 3-in-1 Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin
- Nighttime Moisturizer for Normal to Dry skin
- Color-Correcting Tinted Moisturizer (CCTM) in Medium tint

Between this skeptic (or two) and you, this product line is the best thing I/we have ever put on my/our skin! While most people fall in love with the LipSense (that also stays on all day!), we have truly found skin care solutions that work for both of us! What about you?
