Christmas Day is here! Christmas is a really big holiday in my family. It always has been. Even when I was single, I would put up a tree and decorate the house. Not as much as I do now that I’m married, but it was obvious I liked Christmas. I’m sure I got the love for Christmas from my mother. She goes all out with the decorations. And I’m sure it rubbed off on my dad, because he gets into it, too. Their house isn’t the Griswolds by any stretch of the imagination, but it is pretty decked out.
The Flu!
Back to our Christmas. I know that Sarah shared a few posts about our premium gift wrap we had made through Noonday Design, which you should check out, and our delicious Christmas Eve dinner. Mmmm… Granny’s dressing! Unfortunately, I didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked, since I had the flu. Ugh. And it just came on me. I was good Friday, then Saturday, down for the count!
Time for Presents!
Once Christmas Day arrived, I was feeling a little better. I still managed to play Elf, handing out the gifts and taking pictures. Sarah surprised me with many new manly items, things I can use in the garage or with my new woodworking hobby. There were the obligatory clothes and movies, but the best in my book was surprising Sarah with a new sewing machine, which we had talked about for years, but never purchased, and photos of my parent’s 50th Anniversary, that we had put on canvas and framed. I’m pretty sure my mom cried a little when she saw them. And that’s ok.
