We Heart Christmas!
Christmas is one of our favorite holidays, and each year, we look forward to having a theme with our decor. If you saw our earlier post about the custom wrapping paper by our friend Tracey, then you know our theme for this year was a rustic, woodsy theme. We never really intended for the main accent colors on the tree to be focused on red and white, but it just worked out that way, and when we were done, we absolutely loved how it turned out!
We wanted to share some of our favorite ornaments with you. Some are our favorites because of the person or some meaningful thing tied to them, while others are just because we like the design. Not all of our favorites ended up in the photos, but we hope you will enjoy sharing in the beauty of our tree. I will start with one of my personal favorites from this year – a gift from my brother and his family last year. My brother personally designed and blew this glass ornament at Dollywood while they were on vacation. It was so meaningful to have it front and center on the tree this year, and it brought me joy whenever I looked at it.
Ornaments Near and Dear
Next, we have some Mickey and Minnie ornaments. In my family, Thanksgiving is more of the gathering holiday. For my husband (an only child), however, Christmas has always been the big holiday. His mother loves Christmas and all it brings, and we spend each Christmas with his parents. Since one of the sets of nicknames they have for each other is Mickey and Minnie, we scored this set at Costco a few years ago.
More of our Favorites
The gallery below showcases more of our favorite ornaments. Some have been used year after year, while others were added specifically for this theme. They came from a variety of places, both expected and unexpected – Hobby Lobby, Old Time Pottery, JCPenney, QVC, and even Cracker Barrel!
Two More Special Ornaments
The two awesome wood ornaments below we picked up at Fiddleheads Garden Center in Dalton, GA. It’s owned by a personal friend of ours, and he has done an amazing job of building a solid business in that community! He has a background in landscape engineering and he closely monitors the quality of the products he sells in his shop. If you are close to Dalton or passing through that area, please stop and check out his store. You won’t be sorry, and you might even send us a, “Thank you!” for introducing you!
Tree and Presents...and Cleo!
To round out the tour of our Christmas tree, I will leave you with a few more general photos – some close-up and some with a view of our whole tree. As I mentioned, this is one of our favorite seasons, so please either excuse our obsession or join us in the beauty! 🙂
Finally, our Christmas would never be complete if our kitty, Cleo, didn’t make it into the photos. This was such a precious shot of her beautiful little face that I couldn’t help but include it! She loved hanging out near the presents, but she did behave and not rip into any of them. She looked super cute next to this “ugly sweater” gift bag.
